Hopefully you would have heard that this week, year 5 & 6 have been creating their own rhyming stories; these are aimed at younger children to encourage them to recycle and to give them a greater understanding of how they can save our planet (by saving water for example). They are extremely pleased, as with the support of Sterling, their stories are being put together to create a book which they will then sell to raise money for Ocean Rescue. Launched on 24th January 2017, Sky Ocean Rescue aims to sort out issues that are affecting the ocean’s health, find solutions to the problem of ocean plastics, and inspire people to make small everyday changes that, collectively, make a huge difference.
On Friday, Thandi managed to earn the most coins in year 5 on Times Tables Rockstars and Aidan managed to top the leaderboard again with the fastest rock speed in KS2!! A huge well done must go to Izzy for her dancing awards that were won a few weeks ago and finally to Sam and Evie who earned my teacher’s awards for their fabulous stories!
Just a reminder that Year 5&6 are still collecting 2 litre bottles to build their greenhouse.
