Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
At Isham Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive and nurturing school where every child is valued as an individual. We understand that some children may need additional support to help them thrive, and we are committed to ensuring that all pupils—regardless of their needs or abilities—have access to a rich, balanced, and engaging education.
Our approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision is built on strong partnerships between staff, parents, and specialists. We work closely with families to identify needs early, tailor support appropriately, and celebrate every child’s progress. Whether your child has a specific learning difficulty, a medical need, or requires support with communication, social interaction, or emotional wellbeing, our dedicated team is here to help.
We believe that with the right support, every child can flourish.
Please explore the information on this page to learn more about our SEND provision, including how we identify and support needs, our policies, and how you can get in touch with our SENDCo. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s individual needs, we warmly welcome you to contact us directly.

Complaints about SEND provision
We urge parents / carers with any concerns regarding the SEND policy or the provision made for their child to speak to the academy as soon as possible and, in the first instance, to the class teacher or the SENCO.
If parents / carers feel their child's needs are still not being met they should make an appointment to see the Headteacher.
If concerns are still unresolved parents / carers may wish to engage with PDET’s Complaints policy procedures.
NB - any issue relating to statutory SEN assessments should be pursued with the Local Authority and not via PDET’s Complaints policy.
If parents / carers require further advice / support, they should use the local Information, Advice and Support Service for Special Educational Needs;
